ANIKE LABEL ATTENDED ADVERTISING WEEK EUROPE 2025
Networking.
Did that word just trigger your fight or fright?
Hearing that word genuinely used to send chills down my back. Is that because I think I'm no good at it? Is it because I am scared of meeting new people?
I have never been able to truly pinpoint what it is that used to terrify me about it all.. but the word was enough to send me in another direction from where it was all happening.
However, I was recently presented the opportunity to attend Advertising Week Europe 2025. 3 days of meeting lots of new people, hearing stories, watching interviews and panel talks and after these past 3 days... I think networking should be scared of me. Well not yet, there is of course a lot of work that still needs to be done but after hearing such inspiring stories, I feel encouraged and reassured and also a reminder that sometimes we really overthink certain situations.
Adjusting to new changes has definitely been a process, and if I’m being honest, it’s taken longer than expected to find my rhythm. The truth is, no one wants to feel like they're failing, and at times, it's easy to let self-doubt creep in. But the reality is, this is all about learning. Learning what works, what doesn’t, and giving yourself the grace to grow. Hearing from others about their own experiences really helps you realise you're not alone in this journey. It’s all about being open to pivoting and adapting when things don’t go as planned, which, let’s face it, is inevitable.
The world doesn’t end when things fall apart, and giving up would be far too easy. Real learning takes time, and it requires consistency and resilience. I definitely got thrown into the deep end three days in a row, but by the end of it all, I felt more confident than I did when I first arrived and proud of the progress I made.
There’s so much that I’ve learned that and so much that I also shared too! From refining my approach to navigating challenges, to understanding how to better connect with my audience, I continue to have a clearer vision of where I want to take things. I’m looking forward to implementing these insights and watching them come to life in real time.
I’m genuinely grateful for the opportunity to attend, and I’m excited for the future, hoping that one day, I’ll be able to return as a guest panelist and share my own experiences with others. (Watch this space)
