THE PRESENCE OF COMFORT - WHAT HAS HELPED ON THE JOURNEY OF BEING A FOUNDER
READ TIME: 3 Minutes
Embarking on a new journey, whether it's pursuing a dream, venturing into uncharted territory, or simply taking that first step towards change, can be an incredibly intimidating experience. The uncertainty, the fear of failure, and the discomfort of leaving behind the familiar can all conspire to create a sense of fear that holds us back.
Change and growth don't occur within the realm of the known. They thrive in the uncharted territory where challenges push us to adapt, learn, and innovate. When we challenge ourselves, we cultivate a mindset of constant improvement, opening doors to new skills, perspectives, and opportunities we never thought possible. Please remember that every successful endeavour starts with that first courageous step. The moment we choose to confront our fears and embrace discomfort, we set in motion a process of personal evolution that enriches our lives.
Creating Anike Label has allowed me to embrace the challenge of stepping outside my comfort zone. It's a testament to my willingness to explore, learn, and evolve. Everyday there is something new to learn, something to understand and apply to my work. The journey may be scary, but the rewards of self-discovery, personal development, and enriched experiences are immeasurable.
I have always been fond of the saying 'Slowly but surely.' I have learned to fall in love with taking my time, it requires patience. Increasing your confidence is a gradual process and requires a mindset shift.
Things that have helped me during my journey
- Challenge and replace negative thoughts with positive, affirming statements. Practice self-compassion and treat yourself with kindness.
- Gradually step out of your comfort zone. Facing and overcoming challenges can boost your confidence and prove your resilience.
- Ask for feedback from trusted friends, family members, or colleagues. Have an accountability partner who can regularly check in with and ensure you are completing the things you said you would.
- Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. Keep a journal of your successes to remind yourself of your growth. At the end of every month I would look back on all my achievements and write them down.
- Instead of viewing failures as setbacks, see them as opportunities for growth and learning.
Start with small steps, be patient with yourself, and celebrate your progress along the way.
